“One Zine. One Love.” is a play off of “One Scene. One Love.” which was a movement started in the music scene around 2013. The mission was to build comaraderie in the music scene in Omaha, NE.

The idea to create a magazine showcasing the artists came as my final project during my first semester of my final year at UNO. This first edition highlights the alternative, rock, metal, and punk scene in Omaha, NE. My influence came from music magazines such as Revolver. The photos for the main band on the cover and in their spread, The Impulsive, I did the photography for. I was assisted by local photographer, Chris Tierney, while he has studio space at Boiler Room Studios. In addition to bands I included other local highlights such as a realism oil painter and haunted houses.

The other photos were collected from other local photographers. I designed the layouts and did the copywriting.

During my final semester at UNO, the second part of my final Graphic Design project was volume two of “One Zine. One Love.” which showcased the local rap/hip-hop music scene. I had another photoshoot with the main artists highlighted in the Compilation, pieced together the front cover, and did all of the layout design.
